Don't hit a deer with your Prius!

My wife hit a deer with her '07 Prius. It looked like about 4k worth of damages, but the estimator said 6.2k. The deer took out the hood, left front fender, left front door and rocker panel. The left front tire was cut from the metal and plastic that was pushed into it. Well, then they found the water canister and water pump were both tore up and the fuse box was cracked in two places and several wires were ripped out of their connectors - so an entire wiring harness was needed - you can't get a partial harness (!!??). I got the car back and after one day the check engine light came on. The car is back in the shop while they check that problem, otherwise everything is fine. Toyota and my body shop worked together very well, and the insurance cost for me was $200, but the total repair cost just went over 10k. I sure hope the insurance company doesn't try to get even at renewal time.
