Cayenne

I know looks are all relevant, but who all likes the looks of the Cayenne? Also, what do you think about Porsche, a traditional sport car maker, making a SUV?

How come? Sure, Porsche is a traditional car company that produces great sports cars, but why not produce something new. They dont need to keep trying to impress people with their sports cars, it's already done. I know a lot of people who have said that this new Porsche SUV sucks balls, but if you ask me it really isn't too bad of an idea, Porsche has tons of great sports cars with great speed in all of them (though some might lack looks), so, being the people we are, we would expect Porsche to come out with another fast sports car, well they did what the people didn;t expect, they put out an SUV. good for them, change is good in my opinion. I don't, however, like the fact of their pricing, if they want to sell a Cayanne turbo(which I would think would be more popular for those who like SUV's but still want a sporty zip to their car) I would think it better to sell it lower than 90k dollars, I mean damn I could buy two luxury cars for that much, two good ones! but oh well, im not the CEO of Porsche so my opinion isn't worth too much. The Cayanne is a good move by Porsche and shouldn't be looked down on.

just my $0.02

Well, its like with Ozzy Osbourne. Before he made that dumb show,he was like Mr.Darkness.Nobody new who he really was.Thats the way he always was before he got that dumb show going. With Porsche, they were known for their fast nice exotics. Now that they made a SUV,its all changed. There not who they always were before. Before they were like no other car. They have great speed and looks that a lot of others don't.

They have come out and said that. They said that there is a lot of money to be had in the market and they want in on it just like anybody else. They are a company there to make money. They were smart to do so. I wouldn't buy one though, the Jeep is superior and will take it off road any day of the week, and one they drop the Hemi in it, the power difference will be minimal.

I love this SUV. I sat in one at the Philly Auto Show, and it was amazing. So luxurious inside, and sporty outside. I was surprised by the Cayenne's offroad capabilities also, the exceeded my expectations by far. Do I like it? Yes. Would I buy it? No. It is a Porsche, therefore it is very expensive. If I had the money, of course this would be one of my top SUV choices. But for now, many others beat the Cayenne out on my SUV list.

My sentiments are basically the same. This is not an ugly vehicle by any means. It has smooth lines and a sleek look. Fine by my book.

I was lucky enough to sit in one at the Canadian International Auto Show, they are such beautiful SUV's, they are so very comfortable and just as nice as a normal porsche. Also that Turbo option really makes my mouth water, close to 450hp being made, not bad for a small SUV by anymeans. I wouldn't buy one though because the insurance would kill me and I don't have any money, but if I were in the market for a luxury SUV, this would be the first I test drove.

Well I guess beauty is all in the eye of the beholder. I love the interior of the car, but the outside to me is hideous. It looks like a bloated and stretched 911. I also don't care for the front bumper of the GT2, but I am sure there are others out there who like it.

I think that Porsche making this is a smart move. As one of the only independent automakers out there, they need the cashflow.

Most of these will be sold to middle eastern buyers, where going fast in the desert is important (the largest Porsche dealerships are in the middle east now. No longer is it Champion Porsche).

Many people think that the Ceyanne is supposed to be a replacement for the Porsche GTs, but it's not. Many current Porsche buyers also buy an SUV for daily driving, or as the driveway companion. Why should that money go to a company that isn't Porsche? This way, the Porsche 911 in the driveway can be joined by a Porsche SUV.

And in typical Porsche fashion, it's one of the most capable performance vehicles on the planet, with real off-road ability, and serious speed and handling.

Porsche is an engineering company above all, lending engineering expertise to a wide range of projects, not just sports car development. This is a prime example of that engineering ability.
