ok, i need someone that actually knows whether 91 axles from a crx si will fit on a 88 dx. I was told they will but some dude that posted said he has a 88 tranny and his 90 axles will not go all the way into the tranny. Please someone clear this up as i am in need of axles and i do not what to get all my sh*t off and have them not fit.

88-91 civic/crx Si/Dx have the same hubs so it is pretty safe to say they will fit. The oddballs are the hf and std which have smaller axles and hubs. When I had my ZC I used 91 dx axles in an 89 Si trans and they fit fine.

they should not fit because there are a diff amount of splines on the end, i dont think they si axles will work on the dx unless you have an si tranny on the dx

si axles have something like 31 splines....dx has less im pretty sure, anyways just take your axles goto auto zone and they will sell you both axles for cheaper if you have your old ones with a lifetime warranty....i think that would be the smartest thing to do

It should fit. You guys are confusing a lot of things. First of all DX and Si both have 26 outer splines. HF and STD had 23. So the axel should fit. The difference between transmission in 88 was the splines on the clutch. The inner splines on the axel were all the same for all the Civics.

Like I said before I used dx axles in an Si gearbox when I had my ZC. But if you aren't sure go to autozone or wherever like the other guy said and have them compare the two.

thanks for clearing that up. I recently came upon a free 91 si that this dude was getting rid of. The cv joints on the si look pretty good, I think they have been replaced. My dx cv's are going so why not just ues the free ones just for the time being, as i am dropping a b16a or b18B into it this summer. As long as they will fit, I'm using em'.
Thanks
