Designing the Pagani Zonda racecar version for Carsport America...

As the Pagani will be presented to the press on march 1st in Belgium (where I live), the team owner Toine Hezemans asked me to design the livery for the new racecar that will join the ALMS and Le Mans this year. I am working in photoshop 7 and once the press presentation is over, I will show you the design drawings... I am not allowed to do so now, which I'm sure you will understand.

Now 1 question : is there anyone outthere who knows how to paste a sponsor on a car so that it looks like it's actually following the curves of the car? That would really help me a lot! Thanks in advance!

yes i can just give me the pics;)

using displacement maps i can wrap to body panels look at the site in my sig for furthur info and pics ive done with this technique

it gives a much better finish than a simple overlay

well i would say , make a new layer, paste the decal in it and make blending mode multypli or overlay, i would prefer overlay

but what do you think about my chop?

i think you can see why i prefer overlay, it looks more realistic

Yea, there are a couple of spots you miseed. Pretty nice color choice though.

Yes the overlay looks better

but seems to still look flat somewhat

its not matching the contours of the car

then can you tell me how to blen in mode multiply?

in photoshop there you have the layer window, marc a layer and in the topleft spot of the layerwindow there is the blending mode changer, swap it to multiply or overlay.

for other programs i don't know

yeah it's because i just pastet the logo on the car and changed the layermode.

well it works good only if the deacel has colors if it's black and white it doesnt work at all what should i do now?

hm... sorry, don't know a solution, i think i will experiment with that problem tomorrow

well i just took the paint brush put it in orange color and turned the mod to multiply and then just color the car:)

about the black-decals problem.

the decals on this beetle are blending mode hard light, looks more realistic than overlay and black decals are lookin good.

no i meant photo-chop and look at some exsamples of what can be done to contour your decal to your car

send me the decal and 2 pics one org and one where you want them am i will show you

they dont have too be the ones you need done just something similar to show you what im on about

i was the only one here that did the racing zonda so were you thanking me? anyway you really mean that there is gonna be a news conference about that racing zonda edition?

Yes. I'm not kidding : Carsport America is preparing a racing car and will compete the American Le Mans Series, starting with the Sebring 12 hours. The car that is used is a Pagani Zonda. This car will have the livery that we designed (thanks to you) and will be presented to the press at a press conferention in Belgium on march 1st.

ok, so the racing zonda is in manufactering?

Yes, this car will be transported to Sebring next monday, while they are building a second racecar in Italy already. Both cars should take part in the Le Mans 24 hrs race this year.

You will be suprised what all effects you can get by using the Layer Options(ie. Multiply, Hard light, etc.) That is how I got the sun effect on my avatar, well along with a lens flare, but it wouldn't have looked right without the layer options. And also how i got the Hachi Roku to look like it does on my webpage, on the top banner. www.geocities.com/teamlonelydrivers/ that car was a fully colored pic and it changed just by one click of a button

And if the car is going well, the car should be in all of the ALMS races. Tom Wyckart bought this first car and he told us that he is going to have it compete the whole ALMS...

Will it be at the Geneva motorshow? I am travelling there just to see the Pagani Zonda Roadster... hope I don't inadvertantly put my name down for one in a wild outburst, I would have to sell my cottage just to buy it. In fact, how about I sell my flat as well.
