Hey guys, I've been posting Silvia threads for a couple weeks, and I thought maybe somebody over here could help me out. Does anyone know of any other import companies that bring cars to the States besides Motorex. I'm trying to figure out how to get a Silvia here, and the guy from Motorex told me they couldn't do it. I want to see if there are any other options.

There are a few, but I don't know off the top of my head.

Try using http://www.google.com and search for "Silvia Importer" or something to that nature.

Also it may depend on where you live. I do know of one in Tacoma WA.

I was talking to one of my friends who's really close to the motorex people and he said they were pursuing bringing over the evolution and the sylvia. So maybe someday.

The Lan Evo is a bad idea for Motorex cuz it's coming over here next year in Oct., and it will sell for far less than what Motorex will charge...:D
Also coming in Oct. is the Honda RSX Type R and the Subaru WRX STI sedan and wagon.:D

How much do they charge to convert a car? How willing are they to do the conversion? Say I put An RB26 into a 240sx. Could they make that Street legal? Thanks.

If you wait until the car is on the boat to prepare the conversion, I can almost guarantee that car will get seized by customs.....

Why you ask? Because it takes longer then 15 days to get the appropriate clearance, and required paperwork to clear customs from your importer and post the bonds.

If your car sits on the dock longer than 15 days - it is seized. Then you pay more $$ to get it back from Customs.

Finally, if you do not have the proper DOT/EPA Temporary permits completed, the car will not even make it through customs, it will be denied entrance to the US.

Do you know what happens when the car is denied entrance???

Oh, one final thing. Once the car is converted, which RI will put their name on the line and certify that it is complete for DOT/EPA inspection? I'll betcha there is only one, and in all likelyhood, if they didn't get the car for you, they won't certify it. Can you say hello crusher?

there's some company in the U.S. that is referred to on the motorex website that does RHD to LHD skyline conversions
