WTF did I do to diserve this [warning..corse language]

Got up today, thinking "wow everything has been going great lately." BIG mistake. I start up my ride, and the first thing I notice is the low coolant light is on, and I know it leaks a few drops , and I usuially have to top up the coolant monthly or so.I top up the coolant and soon enough the light goes away. Thinking im in the clear, I head for school, and sure enough that damn light starts going on and off like some sort of a jackass. F***ing piece of crap. 2 weeks to the day I paid the local Chevy dealer to track down a wiring short. I also specifically asked them I quote "Please inspect the cooling system for other signs of leakage or extreme wear, and estimate a price. They said the water pump bearings were gone, and I looked at it and sure enough they were.

Well $280 for the pump plus labour, and im good right? Well that sack of shit isnt working worth a fuck now. The damn light is on and off, the fuckin engine practically overheated on the drive to school. Usuially I do my own car repairs, and this only proves why. And now since I got them to install the pump, I have to make a fucking appt to bring the car in, cant hardly use it till then, the jackasses will argue some point im sure and ill end up with another bill for something that anyone could have fixed in the first place, when it even says on the bill "inspected cooling system. Problems: 1. Bearings Worn in Water Pump." that was it, no other probs and now its fucked. ARRRRGGH

Now im pissed, also because i spent the rest of the morning after my 1st class under the hood of the car in the driveway (in the rain too), when I should have been studying for an Economics test i have in 2hrs.

I hate bad days

That sucks man! I've been in your shoes before. Only thing I can recommend is that when you do take it back, make sure to emphasize to them what is happening exactly and that "you do not want to leak anymore coolant whatsoever". By making that statement, should they not find anything or the problem arises again, you can take it back and they cannot charge you for it. Should they try to charge you again, get consumer affairs involved as they are suppose to know exactly what the problem is and fix it. I know this because I've done it myself.

Definately sucks, hon...

I too, have been there, only my (former) car's problem was a short in the engine fan's relay... my dad finally had to install a manual switch to turn on the fan. (Hey, atleast I could say that it was the switch for something cool like Nitrous! ) Yeah, so, keep your chin up!!!

Things do have a way of turning out somehow...

Talking

Manual switch for the fan?
So everytime you, say, got off the highway and drove down the street and stopped at the lights you had to turn on the fan yourself???

Update!

Fortionatly my Economics test went well. I scored a healthy 86.3% which is quite good considering that I thought I was gonna end up with like a 50-60ish result.

Unfortionatly im not getting any where with the car yet. I wont be able to get the car in to the shop until monday, which completly screws over my weekend plans to go check out a wrecked caprice thats about 200 kms from my place (I wanted to buy the engine, because its low-miles, and the lifter tick is starting to get harsh on mine).

I guess that means I will have enough time to go shopping and find an amp and get my stereo finished this weekend, but with my luck it will probably rain or something. Oh well, if it rains then ill just have more "AF time"

The switch wasn't THAT manual. My dad drilled into the dash and installed a switch that ran straight off the battery to activate the cooling fan when we saw the needle in the temp gauge climbing too high...

It wasn't that Ghetto.
