Cost of NSX engine?JD 12-10-2000, 04:23 PM Anybody have an idea of the cost of an NSX engine, either list new, or used? Amazing piece of machinery, that VTEC V-6. Very different design from most Honda engines due to it's mid-engined placement. I am curious if it is compatible with other Honda cars. enzo@af 12-12-2000, 09:14 PM If you are serious about swapping it with another Honda I'd contact Sport Compact Car. They do an ultimate engine swap comparo every now and then and they should be able to give you some advice. I have heard of NSX powered integras, though. ---------- "Ferrari isn't a car, it's a lifestyle" -Enzo Ferrari. JD@af 12-12-2000, 09:30 PM Wow, and WOW!!! That is a great idea, asking SCC, and I've never heard of Integra hybrids with C30A's or C32B's. That's awesome!!! Thanks Enzo, and tell me more if you've got more to tell!! enzo@af 12-13-2000, 06:44 PM Well, I regret to say that that was all I know about it...and I'm not even sure if that NSX powered Integra was real, or if it was a bad source. Good luck. JD@af 12-13-2000, 09:16 PM I found out that there was an NSX-powered Civic, but that was a tube frame racer, nothing like the stock car. :( JD@af 12-14-2000, 12:19 AM I was psyched to finally get the (rough)dimensions of the NSX engine: Engine weight = 425 lbs Transmission weight = 110 lbs Engine width = 3 1/2 feet Engine length = 2 1/2 feet Engine height = 3 feet This gives me an idea of the sizing of it, and whether it will be able to work in an Accord, Integra, etc. (that is without completely throwing of the weight distribution and resulting in boat-like handling!). nospower2001 12-18-2000, 03:25 AM www.brucenomura.com might give you some ideas i think his email address is on there too, he built a twin turbo NSX, he has been a very popular in the import racing and tuning, he might be able to tell you if you can do that kind of swap. VTEC V6 12-30-2000, 11:46 PM it would cost a hell of a lot since just the comptech supercharger for it cost close to 10 g's also the old legends had the same c30 and c32 blocks as the nsx's they also had the 6-speed trannys which kinda makes u think! ---------- 00 accord coupe ex v6 SS aem cai, WW 3-piece, clears NSX 12-07-2001, 02:47 PM i saw a nsx-powered crx on PH LiuBei 12-07-2001, 09:07 PM Anyone seen an NSX engine in a 7gen Civic {01-up}. I would pay to do that although it would be rather ridiculous and/or evil. border_project 12-12-2001, 12:34 AM i want a nsx engine and put it in a 98 honda oddysey. lower it with nice 20inch rims and body kit. it cant happen and work but oh well. its my imagination Meeyatch1 12-12-2001, 08:06 PM Originally posted by JD Anybody have an idea of the cost of an NSX engine, either list new, or used? The answer to your question (which I don't think anyone has given you), is that the NSX 3.0 engine that was in the '91-'96 NSX runs about $23,000 for the SHORT BLOCK alone, new from the dealer. Then you still have to buy all the other stuff to complete it. You can get one for less than half if you buy used out of a wrecked one. How do I know? I almost had to replace mine. Good thing I didn't. Any swap can be done for the right amount of money, so think about that. :silly2: NSX 12-14-2001, 10:43 AM Originally posted by border_project i want a nsx engine and put it in a 98 honda oddysey. lower it with nice 20inch rims and body kit. it cant happen and work but oh well. its my imagination hahaa i'll take the oddysey engine off of you and put it in my civic hahaa:D fortyoz2eric 12-14-2001, 02:09 PM wouldn't it be incredibly difficult to drop one into a civic? its intended to be in the rear of the car...you would need to do so much work to get that thing to go in correctly! joeman 05-07-2002, 12:08 AM I have a 92 legend (c32a) with over 180 k on it, and will need an engine replacement not too far down the road. Does anyone know if the NSX c32b or c30b is a bolt in replacement -- or if the swap be done with minor modifications? Whitey001 08-22-2002, 03:04 PM the question is not if u can swap em is it cost effective. How hard is it to get parts for a 3.0 or even the 3.2 NSX engine compared to lets say a B16 or even a b or c 22:flash: zzyzx 08-22-2002, 05:44 PM I've also heard about C30 and C32 powered Civic's and Integras but I've never saw a photo or anything about it. Anybody knows where can I find it?? Thanks Jay! 08-22-2002, 06:33 PM o0cmc0o 09-05-2002, 05:50 PM Their always one ebay startin at about 5,000 and go up to about 10 heres a link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1856455139 zzyzx 09-05-2002, 08:45 PM Thanks!!! :D :frog: C32Bperformance 12-17-2002, 01:34 AM Does anyone know if that CR-NSX hybrid has a stock NSX motor? Cuz he ran an 11'6, and with a light car like that I wouldnt be surprised if the motor was unmodded, or at least very little. Cool to see anyhow...
