'04 Nissan Titan?

I was glancing over Nissan's site today and still dreaming of picking up that 350Z to go with my Nissan Xterra. [ok so I'm a sucker for Nissans]

I found this link to the new Nissan Titan coming out next year.

Why post about a truck in the Xterra forums? Well... if you read the specs on it, it comes with a 300+ HP 5.7L V8 engine. That's right, a V8.

I wonder if we could get something like that in an Xterra? Ye gods. I'd love to see a 2004 Xterra with a 300 HP V8 in it. We already get terrible gas mileage, mines-well finish the deed.

They have big re-designs on Quest, Maxima, and then this new Titan... I wonder what they're gonna do to our Xterras next?

Re: '04 Nissan Titan?

A coworker has the new Infiniti G35 coupe. I would buy that over the Z. (back seats to boot)

BTW did anyone notice the Murano has been "Infinitized"?

The Titan is going to have a full-size SUV made from it (with 4-wheel independent suspension) and the next Pathfinder will likely offer a V8 (rumored to be built on the Patrol platform) and that leaves the Xterra to inherit the 3.5L V6. A V8 is almost certainly NOT in the Xterra's future.

We could only hope that that they leave the live axle up front. Definitely a pipe dream.....

I've seen a few Muranos Schlud. Have you seen one yet? They are actually pretty cool. If I were looking for a road going SUV it would be a top pick.

I agree about the G35 Coupe. It has nearly 100% of the performance of the 350Z but a much better looking (downright sexy!) body and back seats. Same platform, same engine placement, etc. Without question it's my favorite 2 door coupe on the road. I love the performance of the 350Z, but I'm a bit turned off by some of the lines.

BTW, this is Chuck. I forgot to sign myself in... Rick doesn't have very good taste (I mean he did buy a YELLOW XTerra!), so you probably already knew it was me.

My first truck and vehicle was a '74 Datsun painted in "safety orange"! Guess it never leaves your blood.

Stop posting that picture Rick. I just makes me want to cry that you got rid of it.

The way of the X

I hate to say it but I believe the future of the X is destined to be the same as that of its predecessor the Pathy........look at what has been done to it already...leather, etc..

It would be sweet with a V8 in it and one could only hope that Nissans leap into the V8 market will only foster a growth in the after market parts arena and we hope that it doesn't leave behind the V6s out there in truckland!!! After all there has always been lots of parts for the z cars.

350Z

I love the Z over the Infinity coupe. So what if the Infinity has a back seat for midgets and the Z doesn't. Who the hells going to sit back there anyway?
Certainly not the driver. Looks? The Z has it all over the Infinity which resembles a MBZ coupe. The 350Z is so agressive looking that it could pick up speeding tickets while parked in the drive way!
