Q2: Retro-fitting power doors on an LX?

Q2: Has anyone ever considered retro-fitting power doors on an LX? I figure there's got to be someone somewhere who's found an EX sitting in a junkyard and pulled out the necessary parts!
My wife and I are expecting twins so we don't have the extra $$$ to get the EX. We're looking at a GREAT deal on an LX with only 10,000 Kilometers but would like power doors later on. I'm guessing that Honda would have standardized parts between the LX and EX and then just added the motors, sensors, switches and electrics at a different point on the assembly line. Any ideas?

My guess is that you'd spend more $ and time than the cost difference between the two! There are probably several different wiring harnesses, at least two motors per door, the switches in the dash, a remote sensor somewhere (assuming you want the remote operation too), different door handles with switches in them, the connector blocks on each door jam and some sensors to make it all work. These doors can be sensitive even factory installed (mine are). Bottom line: Live with manual door or pony up the $ for an EX.

Sorry it's not what you wanted to hear. BTW - check out Odyclub (www.odyclub.com) for an awesome Odyssey forum. Lots of knowledgeable folks there.
