j30 vs i30

i've seen alot of i30s around and i could never get in a good position to race with one. i just wanted to know which is faster, handles better and is an all-round better car - the J or the I?

Definitely the I, more sporty, faster, and better looking. I like the J, but the I is a whole new ballgame.

I was in kind of a unique position in that I owned a J30T and when I took it in for service they let me drive a new I30 a couple of years back. I remember that I thought the J had a smoother ride and was more responsive...210 vs 190hp in the I30....not sure of the weight comparo or who would win a drag race however. The T package makes a big differance in my opinion. Ironically now I own an I30T.

If you factor in the J30s rear-drive setup I imagine it would have handling characteristics over the I30. The J30 corners more aggressively and it can be thrown into oversteer without too much effort.

I V J

I have had both a 93 J-30 and a 1997 I-30 and I regret every day that I traded in my J. The rear wheel drive, the quality of the car and the performance of the J make it far and away a better car. And to think that I was thinking about interior comfort when I made the trade. Big Mistake. I should have bought a 97 J.
