Driving School

I had my Z for about 1 month before the weather turned sour and forced me to place it in storage. Since then, I have been giving serious thought to attending a driving school to help hone my skills behind the wheel. It really seems like a shame to own a car like the Z and never really tap into its potential. Anyone can go to the local dragstrip and mash the pedal. I'm talking about well rounded skills that lead to better control.

Has anyone been to one of these schools (e.g. Skip Barber) and if so what did you think? I definitely want to get feedback.

There is a limit to what I can and will try on public roads--there are a lot of old and large pine trees lining the roads here in NH.

Scca

I suggest you get in touch with the local SCCA and enter some soloII events. You will learn all you need to in a safe enviroment at a whole lot less expense and like anything else, if you don't use it you will loose it.

The best part is the friendships you will make. these are people with interest in all cars, not just Z's. Not knocking other clubs, but there is so much to learn from other owners. You may even convince some to come on over to Z-land.

I would reccomend checing out Jim Russel in Mont Tremblant Canada. They are part of BSMR(British school of Motor Racing). Ita has been about 25 years since I went there but it was a great experience. Also you may want to check out autocross clubs in your area, they race around pylons at airports, parking lots etc. Its a great safe fun way to learn your car.
