installing the head unit

Does anyone know how I can remove the factory stereo from a Honda Passport 1995 and a half? Also, do you know how to install the new head unit? I would appreciate it greatly if you give me some instructions. Thank you.

Well, myself I have never worked on a passport, but I am sure they are pretty much the same as any other honda.

You should just be able to unscrew the trim around the radio, HVAC controls, etc. Then the stereo will be mounted to the bracket. You just need to unscrew the bracket, and pull it out.

I would highly recommend getting a wire harness for the new stereo, this will make things much easier to install. Plus it will eliminate the need to hack up the factory harness.

Also, you may want to give a local stereo shop a ring, and ask if your year/model would require a dash kit. If so, I would grab that as well. It makes things fit alot better, and look nicer.

Hope that helps a little.
