If you are in the market for a new or used car go from anywhere to Hickory, NC. Call b/4 you go for a firm, no games price. They will meet you at the airport. Or drive to the intersection of I40 and I77 and get the best deal on what you drive in and out.

I looked all over the place only to get gamed everywhere. Found these guys on EBAY. They didn't have the used truck I needed but they sounded so straight up I had to contact them. They sold me a new Ram with no games, no hassles.

It was so astonishing, I'm telling everyone.

Don't got to Steve White Motors even if you live 3 minutes away. I bought a 2002 Ford Explorer listed on EBAY from them. They stated on EBAY that the vehicle was "certified to be in excellent mechanicle condition" I flew down there from DC, and was picked up at the airport a couple hours from the dealership. When I test drove the car the brakes pulsated. I was told it was surface rust on the rotors because the car had been sitting for awhile. I raised my concerns with the sales manager and was assured that the problem would go away, or be covered by the Ford warranty which had not yet expired. Since I felt stuck 8 hours from home with no transportation I went ahead and bought the car. I should have gotten a written guarantee that they would take casre of the brakes, because the pads and rotors were shot and it cost me $1000 (Ford only covers brakes for 12K miles, vehicle had 32K). Asked them to reimburse me and they refused. Filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. When a dealership sells a used car the FTC requires that a warranty statement be displayed in the window stating "As is" or with warranty. I'm sure you've seen them in the windows of used cars. When you buy the car you are supposed to sign it. I didn't know this and never saw or signed this document. Steve White Motors sent this document to the BBB with my signature forged, stating that the vehicle was sold As is (even though it had 4K miles left on the Ford warranty AND I pruchased an extended warranty from them when I bought the car). The BBB accepted this document and closed the case. I should have gotten eveything in writing (duh!) I also made the mistake of calling them and making the deal instead of bidding on it on EBAY or I could have had EBAY arbitrate the dispute. I probably would have won the arbitration based on their "certification" in the EBAY add. Since I didin't actually bid on the car through EBAY I had no recourse. I couldn't even give them a negative review. The car turned out to be a lemon which has cost me another $2000 for various problems (not one of which has been covered by the worthless GE extended warranty I bought). Traded it in last night on a new 4Runner. Between what I've had to pay in maintenance and what I lost on the trade I ate almost $6000 on this vehicle. Buyer Beware!

I said I lived 3 minutes away, not that I frequented it. Had to take our dodge truck there once, got totally ripped off. You might have heard of Dale earnhardt Chevrolet, I live about a minute and a half from there, and I'm good friends with the parts guy, Bob. They treat you fair, and don't try to take you for a sucker.

Steve white Motors had a 96 Ford Pickup listed for sale on Ebay that ended without receiving the "buy it now bid".

Steve White represented it with a Quality Check report that indicated it was an excellent truck with no damage history. Steve White Motors said it was so and my mistake was trusting them.

I was very interested in the truck but was not going to bid on this or any vehicle through Ebay without actually seeing the truck. I was told over the phone and numerous emails with the salesman that the trucks condition was very good and was as advertised.

Through conversations with Steve White's salesman, I agreed to purchase air fare and fly the 1,200 miles to Hickory NC with the intention of buying the truck if it met the conditions as advertised. I was also led to believe that if the truck was not as represented, Steve White motors would reimburse my return air fare cost.

I flew to Charlotte NC. I was picked up at the Charlotte airport and transported to Steve White motors and began my inspection on the truck.

I discovered that major repairs had been made to the truck in the form of roof and hood repaint. The windshield had been newly replaced, the roof gutters were not aligned with the doors, the hood bolts were still loose, and chipped paint was visible above the windshield trim along the roofline. I could on suspect that a truck had suffered damage similar to that of a fallen tree or heavy limb or similar object. Of course, the salesman didnt know anything about it. The owner, Short White haired guy, got involved and very rudely told me that he would only knock $300.00 off the price and it was either that or hit the road. There was no discussion or appology. I asked him if he would honor my plane ticket purchase back home as was told NO and the only thing he would do was give me a ride back to Charlotte.

Well, It cost me $700 to find out that SteveWhite Motors is not the place to do business. BEWARE!!
