Question Chevy Front Grill Bowtie. How do I replace it??

I have a new 2003 Chevy S-10 Zr2 pickup, I am looking to replace my gold Bowtie in my front grille with a polished one.

How do I do this?

Thanks

In advance

.

The whole front piece pops out. It is clipped on there.

This is an Xtreme but its close to the same thing. Slide a towel in that section between the bottom of the grill and top of the bumper. This is to prevent the possibility of scratching, you can skip this if you want.

Pop open the hood, there are two clips in the middle that you must pop out, and two somewhere on the sides. The whole thing comes off, grill, bowtie, chrome strip, and I think corner lights. There are two screws on the inside, unscrew it, take it out; and it may require you buying new screws to fit the new bowtie. Customizing an S-10 is really simple the thing is so basic and easy to take apart.

By the way did you get your emblems taken off?

I wish I could draw a picture or something, or be there to show you, fucking internet.

Lift up your hood first.
See that chrome strip that runs across the middle, your bowtie is attached in the middle. See the black grill above and below it? See the corner lights for your turn signals? All of that is clipped on to the front. You gotta find the clips and the whole thing will come off. Just give it a good yank at the top and on the sides, it should pop off.

That bowtie is only held on by a couple of screws, all it takes is unscrewing that and putting the new one on. You have to take the whole thing off because there is no other way to get to those screws.

By the way to you have the colored strip across the middle like my Xtreme or the chrome strip like most other versions of the S-10? That could be a possible modification to do if you don't have a colored strip. The colored one will make your silver bowtie stand out more.

I'm also going to recommend you go to this forum as well for perhaps an easier explanation on cosmetic modification. http://www.s10forum.com/
These people can help you out with a lot of stuff as well. I haven't messed with the grill at all I'm not really sure how you would do that. It looks to me like its glued on or something. These people at the forum could help you with that though, lots of them have changed their grills. You must register first.
