V8 IS Sedan

Now for the IS Sedan, I've heard rumors that Toyota will produce either a Turbocharged, Supercharged or just a plain V8 version of the IS sedan. Is this ever going to happen?

Re: V8 IS Sedan

There was a special show car built for Toyota by Rod Millan purly to generate public interest in Toyota as a brand, and in Rods own aftermarket supplies.

There are also several race cars useing the V8 as its quite an easy conversion to do.

But Toyota have said nothing official about a next generation Altezza/Lexus IS/RS200/300 with a V8

Thats like putting a V8 in an Audi A4 or BMW 3 Series. Which they do. A4+V8=S4. The next M3 will have one. Prehaps the Lexus performance division (GT) which is coming out very soon, will put a V8 in the IS300. But as of now, the IS430 is just a concept.

Re: V8 IS Sedan

I was picking up some stuff at the local lexus dealer Sat. and the guy in the parts dept. told me that the V8 is coming out in 2006 and it probably won't be called an IS anymore, it will be called something like LLF or something to that effect. It will have many more options than the current IS's such as AWD, convertible, turbo, etc. It sounds pretty sweet but it's definately coming.

PS - The new GS's are top notch, very very nice.
