Full exhaust vs. Mufflerwood247 12-19-2002, 04:48 PM Alright, this one kid at my job here says that if I get a full exhaust for my 03 Civic that it'll show a significant difference to the power. My other homie says that unless my car has a shitload of HP, the stock pipes are better, and I should just get a muffler. Who's right and who's dumb? civicHBsi91 12-19-2002, 08:51 PM either way its not gonna produce alot of power, and if your going for all show with your car just get a muffler, if you want alittle more speed out of it get full exaust but if you just want the look get the muffler, its all depends on what you wanna do, and your stock pipes are probably in good shape since you have an 03, it just depends on what you wanna do playa kicker1_solo 12-19-2002, 09:01 PM Well aftermarket piping won't make much of a difference at all on a stock car. If you get some bolt ons such as header, intake, muffler, and so on then it will start making more of a gain for you. But even if you did get new piping on a fairly stock car it will still be better than stock because it lets out the exhaust better. The stock piping is kinda small and resticting. So it will make a small difference, but not much. It will improve your sound though. CustomWhips 12-20-2002, 02:19 AM with intake ,headers, piping, and muffler your only looken at about 3 - 5 hp increase. so if your not putten her on the track anytime soon. dont worry about the whole system... wood247 12-20-2002, 10:36 AM so what kind of muffler do you guys recommend for my 03 Auto Civic. I want somethin deep, under $300 or so... civicHBsi91 12-20-2002, 03:13 PM just go buy one, i hope you dont spend 300 on a muffler....... markpa 12-22-2002, 01:15 AM Theres no point just getting a muffler its pointless...just get a catback system ...youll get a small increase in power and in sound. If you just put the muffler on the only thing you really get is the look...it wont sound good at all. kicker1_solo 12-22-2002, 01:29 AM Originally posted by markpa Theres no point just getting a muffler its pointless...just get a catback system ...youll get a small increase in power and in sound.
