Is the Tercel the US version of the Starlet?

If so then it would make a great swap.
There are plenty of GT Starlets running around NZ, and they are all pretty quick.
Low 15s in the 1/4 and 0-60 in a low 7sec.

And they take really well to running a larger turbo or more boost on the stock internals.
The other mod a lot of ppl do is stick the 1300 Turbo Cylinder Head onto a 1500 block from the Japanese spec Corrolla. Its apprently quite an easy swap ane of course a huge boost in performance.

Just remember you need to think about suspension and brake work to keep up with the extra hp.
Otherwise you end with nothing more than a very fast death trap.

if you drop a 4efte into a tercel, you will be running somewhere in the 14's. i've talked to people who have done this swap. if you really want to get crazy, you can drop a 4age, but you gotta get the whole front clip so you can change the axels and some other stuff.

Re: 4EFTE Starlet Engine From Japan?

Hi there,

Currently, I'm driving a Toyota Corolla AE101 but running on a 4E-FTE Starlet engine. Thinking about using a 5E block to go with my 4E head as to increase my displacement. Do you have any ideas what problems I may face?

Btw, I will be installing a Garret T25/28 turbo and going for front mount intercooler, hopfully a VR4 (JDM) type. Also will be changing to a bigger actuator.

Things that I have done so far, just skimmed my head lesser by 2mm, 10 pcs head-start were changed to reinforce material and torque of 70 between the head & block. Cranks & pistons are stock 4E parts. I have also change my braking system to Levin (AE86).

Can I check with u, what's e current infectors (cc) running on this stock 4E engine? I have already change to a S13 fuel pump but I have this pinking problem.

From what I have l listed, can I boost at Low 1.2 Bar & High @ 1.4?
