1991 escort lxdwaynlakrz 12-12-2007, 03:35 PM i need to replace the radiator fan motor--but i can't seem to get the shaft out the little whole on the shroud-is there a special tool i need? Davescort97 12-12-2007, 04:49 PM No special tool needed. To detatch the fan from the motor remove the motor shaft clip. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to slide the clip off the shaft of the electric motor. You also may be able to get it off by moving the clip with a screwdriver. If you are talking about the harness retainer from the shroud, pry it out being careful not to damage it. To remove the bracket from the fan motor, detatch the wiring harness from the retainers, then remove the mounting screws. dwaynlakrz 12-12-2007, 11:11 PM THANKS! BUTthe shaft will not come thur the hole OF THE SHROUD IT MAT BE WADDED OUT. Automotive Network, Inc., Copyright ©2012
