03 Tracker Fuel Issues

I wonder if anyone's had this problem: my wife's 03 Tracker starts fine cold, then will be had starting and/or sputtering once engine is hot. It's almost like it is flooded. Changed fuel filter and pump works on start. Maybe one of the sensors? Please post if you've had similar problems.

have a mechanic check your fuel pressure. Sometimes the fuel pressure regulator can cause this.

Re: 03 Tracker Fuel Issues

I'd definately check out the temp sensor. I had a similar problem. My temperature sensor went bad and the truck would work fine until you would hit about 100km/h, then it would start bucking. Apparently the temp sensor was telling the computer that the engine was overheating and was trying to compensate by shutting the fuel supply off. My buddy that works at the dealer said it's pretty common.

could be an ignition coil also. next time it is hot and won't start. pull a plug wire off and put in a old plug. make sure its grounded. and turn the engine over and see if you have spark. toivo
