Re: My horn quit working

If they are in the same place that they are on the 99's they are as follows:
Driverside:
Between battery and headlight mount

Passenger side :
Directly below air intake box.

Odd that both are dead. Could be a bad connection or bad ground. Try taking the passenger side one out first to see if it works. ALso, find the wires that go to the horn and use a test light to see if your actually getting a signal at where the horns are. You'll need somebody to press the horn to see if your test light comes on or not.

Re: My horn quit working

Chuck,
I'm not sure what you're talking about...let me further explain...

My horn is not working when I push the middle of the steering wheel. I have checked the fuses and they seem to be OK. I have checked both the fuse boxes. One has a fuse specifically labeled for the horn and the other does not.

It seems like there is a disconnect somewhere within the steering wheel connection of the horn and the power.

I've been looking on the net to see if I could find others who are having the same problem or if GM has recognized this as a common problem.

Thanks for the help.

Re: My horn quit working

POJ,

Do you have power at the Fuse or Horns when the Horn is depressed at the steering wheel? IE Does your trouble light come on when you press the horn button? Do you hear any Relays Clicking when you press your horn. If not. I would assume it's your contact ring in your steering column. Perhaps it's dirty or not making contact all the way through. Try holding the horn down and turning the wheel through 360 degrees to see if it goes off at all.

Re: My horn quit working

It could be the horn relay, usually this part is located in the fuse box under the hood and it costs less that $25 to replace.

Good luck

Re: My horn quit working

I had to have my horn contacts replaced and the relay. The dealer fixed it under warranty. It too stopped working.
