The blower works fine, but the heat no longer works. I also noticed the temp gauge fluctuating between 1/2 way and 3/4 while driving. A week ago, the heat was intermittent. Any ideas?

hey GC i still would try to bleed system.i dont no if there is a bleeder on your car look on thermostat housing for one.but if nothing has been done service wise i dont see how it got air bound.does car overheat you said 1/2 - 3/4 on temp gauge.

I just noticed today, while driving, the temp gauge was at 1/2 way and then moved to 3/4 way, and then dropped back to 1/2 way, all in about 30 seconds of driving. Once again no service has been done.

Is there a bleeding valve for 2004s? And if so, how would you do that. Should I just change the thermostat w/ gasket?

i not sure if it has a bleeder but look around thermostat housing.if so with engine running open bleeder to release air/bubbles.(may take awhile)if coolant has'nt been change in awhile then i would change + thermostat.there's been talk about drilling 1/8 hole in top of thermostat if not already done to help with air

I figure I will change the thermostat (never done it before). Can you tell me where it is located? I followed the upper hose the engine, but nothing looked obvious - in fact I thought some type of spark plug wire case was there - didn't look too long as it is getting real cold. Any help would be appreciated. Also, do you have to drain fluid to change it?

Do I disconnect the upper rad hose to get to it, or do I take the coil pack off?
