holy floor

Well i just bought what seems to be pandoras box when i comes to cars. an 87 firebird, LG4. the drivers side fender was hangin loose i figureed the bolts that held it up were just loose however the bracket in which they bolt to no longer exists and ther is a considerable chuck missing from that corner of the floor. no i just dont know where to go from here. should i home bend a piece sheet metal to repair this or can i buy a corner floor piece somewhere? i would rather steer away from paying 200 for a whole new pan? any ideas?
thanks
-nick

Re: holy floor

If you can patch it in yourself it will get you by. BUT, rust is the equivalent of cancer to cars so it's just gonna keep on coming. Once it goes past the weld lines where the pan meets the firewall it gets bad, and into the a pilar is game over.

Re: holy floor

I've lost 2 3rd gens due to rot in this area. Do you have a large rust bubble on the left a-pilar about 1/3 up the windsheild?
