Received a letter from GM in the mail yesterday informing the great Silverado consumer that finally we can bring in our trucks to get the gauge cluster changed w/out any fee. Also, if you went through GM in the past or used anyone else to get the infamous cluster fixed, they will issue your money back for the amount you paid. 2004 or newer vehicles or trucks with mileage under 70k. Good to go! Semper Fi

My bosses 03 suburban had the speedometer screw up on it today. Had 70,120 miles on it and he has to pay for it out of pocket. I laughed, because...its my boss.

I called yesterday to schedule an appointment and the dealer told me that they would have to take in my truck overnight. I am going to bring it by so they can take the code from my truck. They then told me they need to order a complete new one. Based on this, since they are ordering a whole new complete cluster gauge, I think it covers any type of cluster problem. Any problem big or small, something is wrong. Will let you know how I make out next week.

there wont be a code in the computer, I already replaced the cluster on my 03 2500hd, with a ss cluster at my cost. trying to get them to cover my 03 1500 z71 with 70,000, we had it noted under warranty 3 times and now they say they dont want to pay for it, but they did reimburse me for my 2500hd.
My buddy took his in and since it doesnt do it all they time he told them what it did they said ok, ordered new part he went in when it came in and about 20 minutes later was done.

what kind of problems does this fix? I have searched the internet for this recall, and haven't found anything regarding the cluster gauges. Does it say specifically what the gauge does that malfunctions?
