Unhappy oil leak from the tb cover

I am reposting because I think I finally found the reason for my oil leaks. It’s leaking from the timing belt cover, so it’s got to be one of the seals under it. All the idlers and seals were replaced about two years ago. I just bought (what I consider) a timing belt kit, with all the pulleys and seals again.
1. How do I determine which seal was leaking? I assume when I open the tb. cover it will be all full of sprayed around oil and it will not be clear where it came from in the first place and since I won’t be able to restart the engine at that point, how do I know?
2. When I finally determine what seal was leaking, do I replace just that seal or as long as I am there replace all of them again?
3. The last time I’ve done this kind of work (I am dating myself her) was about 25 years ago. And it was a chain… Looking at instructions posted under FAQs (thanks to Brian again!) it says never turn the crank pulley counterclockwise but yet in the step 15 (a) it says “After aligning the matchmark, hold the timing belt, turn the crankshaft pulley counterclockwise! And align the groove with timing mark “0” of the No.1 timing belt cover.”
Is there a “riders digest” version of the timing belt installation that is not as involved?

Thanks for all your help!
