Hey guys I hope you can help me out. My mom borrowed my truck and backed into a tree, pushed the bumper down and dented the tailgate. I don't know if that caused problem or not but here goes. She drove the truck the rest of thay day and parked it in her garage. The next mourning the truck would not start. I replaced the fuel filter and that is not the problem. If you spray gas in it will run untill burnt off. It is a 4x4 V8 350 5.7L fuel injection 1996 with aprox. 130,000 miles, Any ideas or suggestions ?

Check fuses for fuel pump. Check fuel pressure with a fuel pressure tester.

If it wont crank at all, start by checking the battery and load test it if you can. if good, check for a parasitic draw by removing the negative cable and connect an amp meter in series with cable and batter post. should be less than .06 volts. if not fixed, check the starter draw with a volt meter on the battery while 'cranking'. should not be less than 5 volts. if less, check ground points, if they are good, look into a starter. if still not fixed, pull the crank sensor out and check the resistance through the sensor with a digital Ohm meter. if reads O.L(out of limits), or a very high number, change the sensor. if not fixed, look into checking the spark from the coil, and fuel spray at the injectors. hope this will help you.
