Any '60s , '70s and early '80s "B" or "C" body with the correct K-member will accept the RB blocks without modifications. Finding a decent ragtop is no small task today, though. They've all been bought up or rusted out and blown away. I like the "B" bodies, myself... (Charger, Road Runner, etc.) You could get "lucky" and find a '69 Satelite convertible or something like that.
Mancini Racing sells all the necessary hardware (including the appropriate K-member) to make the changes. It doesn't take any cutting OR welding to do a nice job.
A '77 440 needs a bit of work to be a good performer. Low compression and poor flowing heads, itty-bitty cam... Not ALL 440s run like those from the muscle cars.
