98 honda prelude aftermarket rear speakers!

I bought some Pioneer 6" by 9" speakers for my prelude, and I get ready to install them, and find that there are four wires instead of two. I know there is some kind of processor, crossover, something glued and screwed onto the stock speaker, and I don't know if the extra two wires are power, and if I can just cut them out, or if they are important. Thanks!
