Left Tail Light

I have a 99 Rodeo whose left tail light does not work though new bulb is installed, but the brake light works, but not the park light 9 ( dual filament). I've looked at the fuses and everything is good. I'd expect a blow fuse would take out left and right lights anyway. Is it possible to have broken wiring somewhere and any suggestions where to start. Would a multimeter come in handy? Thanks in advance.

Re: Left Tail Light

i'd start by taking the bulb out, and inspect the contacts for the bulb. sometimes they get corroded, one not the other. use a sharp screwdriver or some sandpaper and clean it. sometimes, too, the contact gets pushed down too far, genty bend it back up. check the ground part of the contact too for corrosion.

and sure a multimeter would be handy. if nothing else you could check to make sure the new bulb is good.
