Idle Air Control on 99'

Can't seem to find my IAC on my 99 s-10 4 cylinder vortec sfi engine. Haynes manual shows it under the air intake and left of the throttle body near the engine head. If this is correct then I looked at the spot today and found something that goes into the engine block and connected to what looks like an AC hardline. Is this it and can it be removed to clean or is it like my illusive pcv valve which doesnt' exist?

Re: Idle Air Control on 99'

IAC is mounted to the throttle body, toward rear of engine, on top.

Re: Idle Air Control on 99'

Haynes and Chilton both, are very "general". Their manuals are usually 200 pages or so, and cover several model years. OEM manuals are 3,000 plus pages covering one year! An OEM shop manual or a subscription to Alldata is the only way to go.
