TIming Marks

I need to know what mark on the timing marks is TDC.i keep getting differnet answers so im not sure...LOL

Top dead center is with number 1 piston on the compression stroke at the top of the cylinder. The rotor should be pointing to the number one spark plug wire in the cap. If you have it just right the notch or cut on the harmonic balancer will be lined up with zero on the timing tab. If there is slack in the timing chain you will get different readings each time. This will also tell you if the distributor is positioned correctly in relation with the camshaft. It has to be a zero.
