I'm not sure what you're trying to say here.

from your cryptic description, i'm getting maybe that your transmission has gone into 'limp mode', which is what the trans computer does when it feels threatened by electrical/electronic problems and it does this to protect its own electronic components.

limp mode, when you are in D drive, starts you off in 3 third gear. however, you can safely shift manually to the other gears and they work fine that way. is this what is happening with you?

often, limp mode means there is a problem with the charging system, most often the alternator, but first check carefully the battery, the battery terminals (clean), the battery connections (clean and tighten), the grounds (remove, clean and reinstall).

give more info please.

btw, yes the trans is "sealed", but not really. there are two plugs, one to drain the fluid, and one to check the fluid level and add atf. see the FAQ for procedure. it is very important you do it right or you make it worse.

Re: trans problem

I wonder how you add transmission fluid and check it with no dipstick?
