Getting rid of my '96

It's a 4WD 3.2l. Has a small hole that's been in the frame for three years and hasn't gotten any worse. Needs an alternator that I'm trying to get replaced by the guy who rebuilt it last year. Also needs O2 sensors.

Third gear is sometimes hard to get in to and 5th gear now seems to have lost it's synchronizer. I'd like to sell the whole thing instead of parting it out. The interior is in great shape. The engine is strong. She's been good to me and I'd hate to junk her.

Message me if interested and I'll get you pics and more details.

Why junk her??

Put a new clutch in, I'm sure you can easily go many many more miles.

How many miles are on the truck? Maintenance history??

I have 179k miles, engine's running like it could easily go another 100k without issue.

Re: Getting rid of my '96

She's got 163k. It cost me 2K three years ago. She's been good, but this alternator thing is pissing me off.

I bought another truck anyway. I wanna keep the Rodeo around as a spare but the wife won't have it. We now have 4 cars and it's gonna piss off the townhouse community.

Re: Getting rid of my '96

The alternator needs to be replaced by a TOP quality alt, i.e. Napa, Hitachi, OEM Isuzu, etc. I don't remember what alt you've been using....but just any alternator will get eaten asap in this rig.

Too bad you aren't closer to me, I'd give you $1k for it.

163k miles doesn't mean anything on this engine, this is one engine that could go easily 300k if it's taken care of.

I would highly recommend NOT parting it out, if that truck's running good otherwise, someone's bound to purchase it as is, as I can almost guarantee you it will outlast your Dodge Caravan listed in your profile.

Not aiming to compare, but my 10yr old truck with 180k miles runs MUCH better then my sister's 10yr old Dodge Caravan with half the miles.
