Knock Sensor PO327 code set
Hi all 1st time poster. I have a 1996 Blazer with a 4.3 L. The OBDII is setting a code PO327 knock sensor 1 circuit low input (bank 1 or single sensor). If I erase the code with my reader, it will come on within 15 miles. Does anyone know the locaction of these sensors and is there 1 or 2 of them? my Haynes book is of no help. Has any one else had the same problems with this year and engine? Any help is appreciated. Mike Loew

Thanks cobra for the reply. I was messing under the hood today and found that the idler pully had all kinds of play in it. Do you think that this excess play could be interpreted as excess vibration by the knock sensor? and fooling it in to a code set

my first instinct says no. the knock sensor is made in such a way as to be able to tell exactly what its intended to detect, and not mistake other vibrations for spark knock. however i have seen stranger things, and if there is excess play in the tensioner, it should be replaced anyway, as there made of aluminum and any wear weakens them, and with enough wear, they usually separate.
id replace it first since it really should be, and if the problem persists, then look at the knock sensor(s)

Re: Knock Sensor PO327 code set
Trying to find the knock sensor on my 96 blazer. Cobra I am unable to load the picture you previously posted. I was going to just take off the distributor and see if I could locate it as Mike described but I am unable to figure out how to get the distributor off. I was able to get the cover off but don't know where to go from there. As you can see I am not the most mechanically inclined but I can usually figure it out, I could just use a little help on this.
