Locked my keys in my '99
Does anyone know how to get in without hurting anything?? I have a spare car for now, but I locked BOTH sets of keys inside if you can believe that. HELP.

Re: Locked my keys in my '99
Don't know for sure if this will work, but you can try calling the ISUZU 24 hour roadside assistance number 1-800-444-0303. They generally dispatch a local tow truck. Many if not most, have the tools needed to unlock the car.
I don't know how long we get this service, but a few years ago my rodeo's battery died and I didn't have a towing company's number handy, so I found the roadside assistance # in the glove box, and they dispatched the tow truck and it didn't cost me anything.

1. Some dollar stores have it.
2. Some mechanic have it, borrow it.
3. Will trigger your alarm-what the heck, you need those keys.

Re: Locked my keys in my '99
Coat hanger will work to pop the lock up. Its tricky to get enough grip on it though. And it will scratch paint and possibly tear the weather stripping. If you dont have a slim jim (I have one I made from a metal yard stick) or dont know anyone with one your best bet is probably a lock smith.

Re: Locked my keys in my '99
Hey, I just got home from work and still no keys. I have a slim jim, are there any schematics on the locking mechanism on the door I can look at without buying a chiltons or Haynes? Lemme know. Thanks for the help thus far, I would rather do it myself then anyone else or a locksmith. Thanks guys.

Re: Locked my keys in my '99
No offense to the OP, but I wouldn't instruct someone online how to gain entry to our Rodeos. I'm sure the OP did lock both sets of keys in his/her truck, but calling a locksmith is the best option.
I'm sure some of you make think I'm being paranoid, but sometimes that's a good thing.

Do you really believe someone inclined to break into cars, who has a Slim Jim, needs this forum to teach him how to break into Rodeos/Passports?
I'll appreciate having seen this image the next time I lock myself out. Which seems to happen to me quite a bit. I usually use a coat-hanger, but I always scratch the paint.

Obviously. Do you really think obtaining a slim jim or making one is that hard? Hell I own a slim jim but someone has to teach me to pop the lock on a particular model. There are thieves trolling automotive boards to gain some advantage in stealing cars. I see them on Acura/Honda boards all the time.
BTW, if you're locking yourself out that often, then you have some issues that need to be addressed.

Re: Locked my keys in my '99
Hey, I understand, but I am not trying to learn how to break in to steal anyones car. I just didn't want to spend anymore on a locksmith. But really, if someone wanted to break into any car, there isn't anything stopping them except motivation.
