Anyone else find that this too tall and too narrow toaster-style car is absolutely hideous?

yeah no kidding to me it looks like a corolla that has been smashed in the front and back not to metion it looks like it have been jacked up in the back

yeah i don't like the way this car looks...what were they thinking...VW beetle cute and Honda civic mix??

The car is definitely funky, but what the HELL IS UP with the center Spedo with no RPM tach??? that is really annoying..

Those are funny, I cant say I like them but at least theyre not as bland looking as most Toyotas...

I agree that those are stupid looking, but the Vitz (Echo hatchback) is cool looking. They make body kits and turbo kits and all other sorts of goodies for them.

jaja:D The Toyota Echo is the ugliest car you can get in the market. The front is too short, worse than a minivan, and is too tall, I hate it. About the hatchback, when I first saw it on pictures (on sale were I´am and top of the ranking) were is called the Yaris they looked pretty nice to me, but just wait until you have one in front of you, it´s incredible small, really small, ok maybe a little bigger than the Smart vehicle. You might be foolished because of the size of the doors but take a look of the trunk!

ah and by the way I like you Ford Escort hatchback Heep, they´re pretty cool, nice and reliable, I used to have the 1994 Wagon until 2000 I had an Ofert made by Ford to trade it for some $$$$ more. You maybe should try too :)

You may not like the shape, but the air does! The Echo has an incredibly low coefficient of drag: 0.29.

For comparison's sake, the Mclaren F1, Porsche 959 & Boxter, Lambo Diablo, and the Ferrari 360, all read around 0.32-0.35.

AFAIK, only the Honda Insight (0.25 :eek: ) and a couple of the newest Mercedes (~0.28) just beat the Echo in Cd.

I think the Vitz looks pretty cool when it's on GT3...

The Sedan Echos are just plain UGLY, but i agree with jimmy_11_cars, that the hatchs don't look too bad. I'm not sure if you yanks get the hatchs, but we have plently of them over here in NZ. I'rd personally never own one, but Toyota is trying to sell into my market. They seem to market them towards old people.

ps- the Insight is the mac-daddy of all cars. If I could afford one, I'd have one.

believe it or not, one of japans top aftermarket companies (TOP SECRET) have turbocharged an echo and even have a veilside kit for it. theyve built it for track use. an australiaa company (i think C-RED tuning) have just started producing quad TB for the 1.3L and 1.5L vvti engines too.
3door HB are :coolguy: IMO but i dont care for the 5 door version.

It's funny that many of you would insult the styling of the Toyota Echo, yet from the pictures you so proudly display in your signatures, I'd like to ask you what makes your car unique or aesthetically appealing? Many of you have bland, boring cars that you've tried to mod, which is all good and well, but guess what? Your car is still just like every other on the road.

At least give the Echo props for being different. One man's trash is another's treasure. So be it. It's all a matter of personal taste and preference. There's no need to insult what someone else likes. Check out EchoFans.net, where you can find many of these "hideous" vehicles modded, and much more unique than that modded Honda you'll see every time you turn around.
