Rear speakers quit working in 99 S10 Blazer

hello everybody

i have a 99 S-10 Blazer, the rear speakers quit working. The drivers side quit about 3 months ago. Now the passenger rear door speaker quit working.Is there anybody else have had this problem. I took apart the little boot in between the door and wiggled the wiring and this didnt help. i have all the front speakers working. I played withe the fader control .when i fade them to the rears ,nothing. checked the other knob that makes the sound go from right to left ,nothing ,no sounds from the rears.
any help or suggestions are welcome.
Don

Disconnect the speaker from the connector and hook a 12 volt test light between the two speaker wires. As the volume is turned up to that speaker, the light will get brighter if the radio and wiring are good. If so, you have a bad speaker.

I had the same problem with mine. First the drivers rear door and then the pass a few weeks later.I pulled the panels and tried a junk speaker laying around and it worked fine. But the good news was it was time to replace the factory speakers with something decent. I put in some alpines and was good to go!

Re: Rear speakers quit working in 99 S10 Blazer

Hello everone;

I found the problem. It was the speakers, both blown. replaced bothe speakers and they work great. dont buy them from Radio shack. they wanted $ 120.00 for a set. went to a super Walmart ,got them for 40.00 ,JVC speakers ,120 watts each.

thanks for the suggestions . Don
