hose replacement question

Hi--the doghouse--94 rodeo 3.2 v-6 sprung a coolant leak from the rear of the engine. at first i was hoping it wouldent be a freeze plug (210,000 mi),
but it appears to be coming from an L-shaped hose behind & under the rear of the intake manifold. realy hard to see for sure, but the corrosion build-up back there (& a puddle) gave me hope.
my question(s) 1-what are they, & b-how do i get to them?

thank you.

Re: hose replacement question

You will probably find your vehicle's part diagrams on http://www.myisuzuparts.com/

Re: hose replacement question

If it is that hose...

You'll have to take all that stuff off the top to access it. I swapped mine when I was changing the o-rings at the ends of the external cooling pipes, which are also deep under the intake manifold. The hose you are talking about is preformed and you'll have to get it from the dealer. It comes off the water manifold at the rear of the engine. Are you sure it's that hose???

Re: hose replacement question

You can see the hose if you go to the above mentioned site and keyword search for water manifold. It goes to the metal piping for the heater core.

There is your part #.

It is on the diagram for the heater piping, too.

Re: hose replacement question

Boritz--thank you for the link--very valuable!
FL3.2L--no, i'm not sure if it is that hose, but it sure looks like it's coming from there.
Any chance it could be the O-rings you mentioned?
It's my daily driver & money is very tight so i can't afford to tear it down
just to take a peek, but i get the feeling i may have to.

Re: hose replacement question

Sure there's a chance. That picture is what I thought of when you said "puddle." If it were the o-rings, you'd be able to look down in there with a flashlight and see that.

Re: hose replacement question

That's after the external cooling pipes and thermostat housing were removed, too. It doesn't look like I had drained the coolant first. Good luck!
