Twilight Sentinal

My '07 Suburban has automatic headlights. The photocell on the dash does not gather enough light in the first and last couple hours of the day to make the dashlights/console lights fully bright, and it cannot be overridden manually (as it could be on the last Suburban design) to make them bright.

So, that means on a fully sunlit morning, when you put sunglasses on, the console lights are completely washed out by the bright sun and the sunglasses. (I can fool the photocell by shining a light on it, that'll pop the console lights up to the daytime "bright" mode until shortly after I take the flashlight away).

Anybody have any ideas how to fix? Thanks. Trojan
