Unhappy 2001 Blazer - bearing hub

I have now had to replace both bearing hubs twice, having done only 45k !
Can anybody tell me why they keep ceasing.

Welcome to AF.
A little more info would help.
Tell us a little more about truck.
What brand of bearing are you using?
Was it replaced with proper torque?
What type of driving.
What failed on old bearings?
Any other problems?

Re: 2001 Blazer - bearing hub

I did three of em in one month last winter. 2 on the same side and one on the other. I attribute the 2 i did on one side to them being the cheapo made in china hubs. These trucks are hungry for parts, that much I gurantee. My Jimmy goes through 1 or 2 belts a season, brakes every month or so, and constant check engine lights for evap and O2 sensor malfunctions. I wish I had fire insurance so I could burn this thing to the ground lol.

Ok I'm done.

The truck has very seldom been off-road and never in glacial water, which is a killer; rarely driven in 4x4. I don't know what failed in the bearings, as I cannot open them. They just start this awful noise and sound dry. The replacement bearings were purchased from reputable US distributors and installed by a professional garage. I have no other problems with the vehicle.

Re: 2001 Blazer - bearing hub

This is my 2nd truck since 1994 and I never had any other problems, ever. I just love my Blazers, but I am tired of these hubs. Now I just buy them in bulk and replace when needed - like tires.

Yes but what brand of bearing.
Was they the 90 day wonder bearing.

A good brand of bearing and the proper installation go a long way.

I would suggest A good BCA brand of bearing and make sure of the proper installation and torque on axel nut.
Good Luck
