99 Passport CEL nightmare!
So, first I had P0172(rich bank 1), P0174(lean bank 2), P0300(misfire), and P0401(EGR insufficient flow).
Then I replaced the IMGs. After reconnecting the battery and driving a few miles the CEL came back on and I had: P0401(EGR) and P0172(rich bank 1).
Then I cleaned the EGR. CEL came back on and I "erased" the codes with my tool.
CEL came back on and now I have P0172(rich bank 1), P0174(lean bank 2), P0300(misfire), P1133 show as "pending" on my tool ( H02S Insufficient Switching Bank 1 Sensor 1), P0401(EGR), and P0174(lean bank 2) repeated.
I am about to give up on this thing. Does anyone have a good idea of where to start? I'm leaning towards the see how many holes $100 in ammo makes thing. I can't believe my buddy bought this with the CEL on.
Thanks again for all the help here!

Re: 99 Passport CEL nightmare!
Did you use the updated 13 ft lbs torque on the intake bolts when you replaced the IMG? Also did you use an inch lb wrench instead of a ft. lb wrench? ft lb wrench wont be nearly accurate enough at that low of a setting.
Anytime I've seen those codes together its always been IMG cracked.

I did tighten to 13ftlb, but I do not have an inlb wrench. I would hate to think I ruined $60 in gaskets. Well, I guess I will eat the cost of that I try re-replacing them. Do you think the upper gasket is okay or should I replace both again? Thanks!

I followed the instructions in the FAQ. One whole can of intake cleaner down the small hole. Pintle moved fine on the valve itself. Any way to check the pintle with a meter? Thanks!!!!!!

Re: 99 Passport CEL nightmare!
Speaking of IMG bolt torque. Do you think it wise to back off the bolts to the new torque after the gaskets have been in service for a while, or is it too late?
Andrew.

Re: 99 Passport CEL nightmare!
UPDATE: While he was driving, the CEL went off. I figured it burned out so I pulled codes again. Without doing anything to it, it dropped the H2OS code and now has: P0172, P0174, P0300, P0172 (pending), and P0300 (pending). How can it throw a hard code AND have the same code pending? Are we still thinking another IMG job is a good start? I picked uo another set of gaskets and an in/lb torque wrench today. Thanks!!!!!
I should also mention I "erased" the codes to see what happens next.
