Oil pan, 2003 Tribute

My oil change guy told me my oil pan is cracked and it would cost $500 to replace it. It drips a few drops a day on the garage floor. Is he giving me a line of bull? Is it hard to do it myself?

Can you see the crack?

You might be able to JB Weld it (it is an epoxy).

I have a similar problem. Not sure if mine is cracked or if the seal is busted. It only leaks a few drops a day. I was going to try and fix it, but it looks like you have to remove some of the exhaust to get the oil pan off. Not something I want to do considering I'm about to trade it in.

I would drain oil myself and Try some Mighty puddey!
I think PepBoys sells Liquid Metal near the sealents + Permatex stuff.
