94' Regal GS charging issuesdatdude151 10-24-2007, 02:18 PM I have this problem that while I am driving my meters is saying the battery is not charging. Now I have replaced both altenator and battery and problem still consists. I also tried pull some fuses to narrow the problem. I also tried a junk yard ECM, problem is still there. I also had my fuse blow for my cluster do not know if that is related or not. Would any have a clue or a original manuel(autozones does not help). richtazz 10-26-2007, 03:12 PM First, take a digital mulitmeter and take a reading at the battery with everything off (should read 12.6-13.2 volts). Then start the car and check again (should read 13.8-15.4 volts). This will eliminate a possible bad gauge/cluster. Next, try taking a pair of jumper cables and using one of the pair, connect one end to a good engine ground and one to the chassis. If it starts charging, you have a dirty/broken/corroded ground strap. If this doesn't help, check all the battery cable connections for loosness, corrosion, grease, etc... and both the belt (for cracks, glazing, grease/oil) and the belt tensioner (for proper alignment and no free play in the pulley/bearing). datdude151 11-07-2007, 11:25 AM Okay Richtazz I'll check that out thanks, cause I was just about to take the steering wheel totally apart to see if I had broken wires.
