S 10 No Go

Have a 2001 S 10 4x4 Crew cab 4.3,85K,after stopping at a signal or stop sign upon initial acceleration the truck shuts off with no warning, usually starts right up,will run fine for a few weeks and do the same thing again,it has shut down one time while driving at 40mph,did have a hard time restarting cranks but no fire,no codes have been set, truck runs perfect between episodes, not sluggish, smooth idle and acceleration.swapped the fuel pump relay same problem, thinking fuel pump or ignition module etc,any educated guesses would be helpful,as a fulepump assembly runs nearly $600.00 installed, lots of cash for a shot in the dark.

It doesn't sound like a fuel problem, have you had it scanned? You get a certain number of "pending" DTC's on some problems and it might help point something out.

Re: S 10 No Go

Well it does have a intermittent fuel problem, the fuel pressure needs to be 60-65psi.

Re: S 10 No Go

we had the same problem on the company truck that I work for, it ended up being the relay socket terminals, they get slop in them, then we have to take it out, try to bend the terminals back so they make a good contact, we did this three times til we replaced the terminals in it. same kind of truck btw, hope it helps you
