98 lesabre engine going into a 94 lesabre

does anyone know if an engine from a 98 lesabre will work in a 94? I know they're both the series II 3800 3.8, but i dont know if the sensors and the cpu, things like that are totally compatible with the 94. Any insight would be a great help. Thanks!

Welcome to AF.

The Series II 3800 Vin "K" came out on 96 and up LeSabre models along with a new powertrain control module/computer (PCM) and engine wiring harnesses, etc. You have the Series I. Vin "L".
