Remote Start 2004/ locks

Ok, I have a 2004 trailblazer..... I did a search for and did find a geat wires/ color and location on this forum....but , I put the autostart on the TB and when the yellow (starter wire) has power on it, the starter will not do anything, I know the alarm system. The remote start I bought has an output for (factroy alarm/dis-arm), then I also bought a alarm bypass module. Do I need this? Do I need to bypass the key-sensor wire? Or do I just go staight into the disarm no unlock it (green drivers door module) that output. I am also having a hard time with the locks, I went the the back of the switches on the drivers door I think tan and gray, and tried to power the locks that way, with no luck, I put power on the wires that had power on it when I push the lock and unlock buttons, I relize I am tring to feed electronics backwards, I have 2 wires for the locks and I can change the polarity on them, i have them on (+) right now. My TB has a 4.3 and for the tach wire, do I need to go all the way to the engine?

Seriously this isn't the kind of vehicle to try out to install a remote starter in if you've never done one before. These cars have enough electrical issues on their own. I can't believe you haven't blown out the BCM or at least the door module.

There always one security system which is inside the ignition switch. Some of the higher end units like the LT platforms also have an entry alarm too. The easiest thing to do is to go to www.bypasskit.com , look up your car, and buy the needed bypass. They have an all in one unit that'll do all the door functions, lights, and PK2 bypass all off of one wire.

Re: Remote Start 2004/ locks

OK, I figured it all out, The remote start system I got didnt come with dirrections. The trailblazer has the passlock II system on it, so I had to mesure the resistance between 2 of the wires and use a by-pass module,it worked fine once I figured out how that system works, this system also had a 400ma output which I ran to the door module to dis-arm the factory alarm and the interior lights come on. I havent hooked up the locks yet.... though I have change the polaity of the output to (-) . The wirig diagram for the trailblazer locks, showed jumping into the tan and grey wires but doesnt show a polaity. Any suggestions for the locks? I would like to go into the factory FOB system where when you unlock it also does a timed delay reverse light illumination , and lock does a short honk of the horn.......Is this possible?

No, the doorlocks are triggered by the computer so the only way to get keyless to work with out using the GMDL-BP bypass is to open BOTH front doors and 5wiring the lock motors with relays. Then you have to go inside the rear computer located under the rear dr. side seat and do neg. trigger to those wires to get the rear 3 locks to work as well.

No, the night time illumination system is part of the car's computer. To do that, the use of an interface like the GMDL-BP is needed.

Nope sorry. Unless you 5wire the lock motor itself. You can't do it to the switch because it's DATA and not analog. If you try it you'll burn up the BCM. Trust me, when these TB first came out, I was the one that came up on how to hard wire into the locks. I submitted this info to Directed Electronics and they verified it then put it into their tech notes.

Today there's all kinds of interfaces and bypasses for this car. Seriously, do yourself a favor and buy one. It'll save you at least a day's worth of work. Wouldn't you rather hook up a handfull of wires under the dash and make everything work perfect including bypassing the PKII system versus running wires all over the place and still needing to bypass the security????
