2004 Impala code 0102

Hi,
I am looking for some troubleshooting help for this code. I reset the check engine light and it immediately kicked the 0102 code again. Any help is much appreciated.
Take care,
John

Engine size would be helpful, but I assume this is a 3800? Check the connectors at the maf, then try cleaning it with CRC maf cleaner.

Sorry about that! Thanks for the quick reply, the engine is a 3.4 Litre.
Thanks

Re: 2004 Impala code 0102

I checked the connections on the MAF and also cleaned it with the crc Maf cleaner. The code continues to be set. Would replacing the sensor eliminate the problem or is it possible that something else is causing the code. The car is running perfectly even when the light is on.
Thanks,
John

Re: 2004 Impala code 0102

P0102 is MAF circuit low input.

This could be caused by a bad MAF (since cleaning didn't help), or the wiring between it and the PCM. If the wiring looks good, and the connector has no corrosion, then I would change out the MAF.

Another thing u can do is if i splice into your IAT only on the 5v ref and run a jumper wire to your mass 5v ref w/ the jumper wire clear the code and that will tell u if its an electical issue between the mass and the pcm, if no change and the ight still stays on most likley its a bad mass

One more thing to add is if u have access to a scanner, throw that on the car and look at your data input, check you Baro meter and make shre you KPA is in normal range for your altatude, and check your fuel trims and make sure they are betwen -5 to 5 on longterm and short term, if they are outa wack it sounds like the mass.opcorn:
