Flickering airbag light!

Ok heres the deal a friend of mine has a 97 s-10 4x4 with 4.3 bla bla bla, the question is a couple of weeks ago the airbag light came on....so having a scan tool scanned it no codes?? humm well the light just went off for a couple of days then it is back on now flickering comes on goes off flickers all that fun stuff. Well sounds like a connection to me no codes nothing and the flickering sounds like something not making good contact but what do you guys think and have any of you had this problem and what was it or were would be a good place to check connections?? And yes I KNOW THEY ARE DEADLY DANGEROUS!! and all about unhooking cables and letting caps discharge just wondered what you all thought ok Thanks l8terrrrrrrrrrrrrr.........

Re: Flickering airbag light!

A regular scan tool for the check engine light will not read the airbag codes. That system uses a different module, thus you need a different scanner. If the light has come on, there WILL be codes and they can be read (even history codes).

Get to someone with a scan tool for ABS & SRS...those 2 systems are different than PCM codes
