7th Generation Celica Convertible

Well, looks like we can expect another Celica cabriolet. The soft-tops from the previous generation were built off of the Toyota Curren chassis, applied with a Celica's nose, but the newest Celica Convertible which debuted as a concept at the 2000 Greater L.A. Auto Show is of a simpler cut and paste (a la available New Beetle cabrio) variety straight off of the hatchback's body. Presented with the 2ZZ-GE, perhaps this body format will assist in sales over the RSX--or will it cut into the Solara covertible market?

Well, I didn't go that year. I did go to the 2001 show. It seems like every time I DO go, I miss two or three very important cars. Perhaps I should start going twice a show.

That's my plan. And this time, I'm going to take a notepad and write down all the cars I take pictures of so I can match them up later. I have like a dozen pix of the Jag roadsters from 2001 and I can't remember which is which.

And you know, the past two years, I missed the Skylines both years. :zx11pisse

Me = dumbass!

Ahh, the Skylines. I remember the first time EVER laying my eyes on a genuine spanking real Skyline at a show years ago. Yeah I've read and heard so much about it but I could only match up the praise with pictures. Seeing one only a foot away made my knees weak. None of my other buds could understand what was so special about it; their oogle-mobile of choice was a certain heavily modified Supra. I hope they know now what they missed out on.

The very same. I do hope they start making some factory performance enhancements, now that the RS-Xs are boasting big time (0.2 liters displacement, hint hint, Toyota).
