I didn't check the tranny fluid for a long while. Today I am changing the transmission fluid using the drop pan method. I only got 4.x qts out of the pan. Isn't it weird? I heard people saying on this board that you can get out 7 - 8 qt of transmission oil using the drop pan method.

No, you only get about 1/3---maybe 1/2 if you're lucky. That's the downside to the pan method.
