Diasabling Auto Headlights

I have recently installed a set of HID headlights and need to disable the Auto headlights so that they dont rob all the power durign startup. Has anyone figured out how to do this? I have a 2001 S-10 Crew cab. PS not the Daytime runnign lights, the auto headlights that are run through the photocel on the pasenger side speaker.

pressing that button 4 times never worked for me. the only way to dissable it (can always be changed back) is to pull the DRL fuse from the fuse box under the hood, bend one of the pins so it doesnt engage, then reinsert the fuse.
